• For Sale: 1983 Ferrari 308 GTB Quattrovalvole – Rare RHD UK-Spec Berlinetta With timeless, cohesive styling by the legendary Pininfarina, the Ferrari 308 captured the spirit of Maranello like few others. As Ferrari’s most successful line—with over 12,000 examples built—the 308 holds a revered place in automotive history. However, this particular example is a true rarity: one of only an estimated six Quattrovalvole Berlinettas in Australia. Originally equipped with a 3.0L V8 running four twin-choke Weber carburettors, the 308 later transitioned to fuel injection in the early ’80s in response to global emissions regulations—resulting in some loss of performance. Ferrari’s answer was the introduction of the Quattrovalvole (four-valve) heads. This version not only restored performance but also improved reliability. Lighter, softer valve springs replaced the problematic sodium-filled valves of earlier models, making the QV the most dependable engine in the 308 family. A revised clutch mechanism also enhanced drivability. While Ferrari officially imported only the Targa-bodied 308 GTS QV to Australia, all 74 RHD Berlinettas were delivered to the UK.
